Antibiotics for ectopic ureter

This page provides information about the use of antibiotics in the treatment of ectopic ureter, including when they may be prescribed and how they help manage urinary tract infections.

When are antibiotics prescribed?

If your child has regular urinary tract infections (UTIs), your doctor may prescribe antibiotics. These medicines treat the current infection and prevent future ones. Antibiotics kill the bacteria causing the infection and help to make your child feel better.

It’s important to tell your doctor if your child has any signs of a UTI. This can help prevent kidney damage or other problems.

This chapter contains general information about congenital malformations of the urinary tract. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. Always consult your doctor or healthcare provider for guidance on your individual medical situation.
