Conservative treatment for NLUTD

Your doctor may suggest conservative treatment, which means using simple, non-surgery methods to help improve bladder function and quality of life.

What is conservative treatment?

The main goal of treatment is to protect your kidneys. Even if you don’t have very bad symptoms, your urologist may suggest treatments to protect your kidneys.

As long as your kidneys are healthy, the main goals in neuro-urology treatment are:

  • Getting your bladder to function normally again.
  • To help you stay dry and control your bladder, improving your quality of life.

The treatment depends on the type and how serious the condition is, but usually includes the following options:
