Understanding this type of primary urethral cancer

If urethral cancer spreads to other parts of the body, like the lymph nodes or organs, it’s called metastatic urethral cancer. At this stage, it’s usually not curable, and treatment focuses on slowing the spread and relieving symptoms.

Lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped glands that are part of your body’s immune system. They filter harmful substances, like bacteria and viruses, from your lymph fluid and help fight infections. You have lymph nodes in places like your neck, armpits, groin, and other areas.

When they swell, it can mean your body is fighting an infection or, in some cases, that cancer has spread to them.
