Understanding this type of primary urethral cancer

If the tumour grows towards the centre of the urethra without spreading into deeper layers or nearby organs, it’s considered superficial and is an early stage of cancer. This type of cancer is also known as localised primary urethral cancer and includes various stages (Stage 0 or Carcinoma In Situ (CIS), Stage Ta and Stage T1) depending on tumour invasion depth.
