36th Annual EAU Congress, 9-12 July 2021
Welcome to the EAU Patient Track 2021!
2020 was an exceptionally challenging year for all of us, transitioning into the new normal with our fair share of virtual meetings, wearing face masks and social distancing. The EAU successfully met these challenges; the EAU20 Virtual Congress was a huge success and opened up other possibilities when it comes to organising meetings in the future.
With the pandemic still raging across the world, EAU21 too will be converted from a physical congress in Milan to a virtual congress. The absence of a physical annual meeting has not prevented EAU Patient Information (EAU PI) from working tirelessly, and I am very pleased to announce the very first EAU Patient Track.
I look forward to virtually seeing you to share your knowledge, experiences, and insights into treatment and quality-of-life issues.
Mr. Eamonn T. Rogers
EAU Patient Information Chairman
The 36th Annual EAU Congress (EAU21 Virtual Congress) will see the premiere of the EAU Patient Track. For the past three years, patient involvement in the annual congress was limited to a Patient Information Session. This is going to change!
Patient Information Sessions
The EAU21 Virtual Congress will offer Patient Information sessions, bringing you the latest on quality-of-life issues, updates based on the 2021 EAU Guidelines and other topics of interest. All delegates with an interest in the patient perspective are welcome to join.
EAU Patient Advocacy Group Members such as the Association of Cancer Leagues (ECL), the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC), Europa Uomo (EUomo), the Kidney Cancer Patient Coalition (IKCC) and the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition (WBCPC) were involved in the composition of the sessions. The detailed programmes of the Patient Information sessions on the following topics will be available soon:
- Bladder Cancer
- Kidney Cancer
- Prostate Cancer
- Life after cancer treatment
- Functional Urology
EAU Patient Poster Track
Over the past months, patient advocates from across the globe were encouraged to actively contribute to the annual EAU Congress by submitting a poster abstract. The Patient Poster Track offers patient advocates an opportunity to share knowledge and insights into treatment and quality-of-life issues. More information will be available soon.
The Patient Poster Track is brought to you by the European Association of Urology (EAU) with programme development support from Pfizer. The editorial content of this page was written independently of the sponsor and is judged to be free of any conflict of interest.
Patient Information Advisory Board
The Patient Information (PI) Advisory Board consists of patient group representatives who are also members of the EAU Patient Advocacy Group.
This Board is responsible for developing the EAU Patient Track as well as the selection of Patient Poster Abstracts.
